Using wikispaces can be a great educational tool especially for problem solving skills. Once I was able to figure out how to maneuver around and customize the site to how I wanted it, it became easy enough to use and configure. This could be a great tool to help students problem solve as I could post resources, information, and assignments on the site to help direct students to the appropriate places. Students are able to post questions or answer discussions questions or queries that I post to the class and the website as a whole can function as a virtual classroom. Students' participation will not be constrained to the four walls of a classroom; they will have the opportunity to participate and hone their problem solving skills on their own time in an asynchronous environment.
I enjoyed working with wikispaces and it is something I can see utilizing more regularly for my students in the future. My hope is that once they see the benefits of this site they will be willing to visit it and utilize it as the fantastic resource that it can be. One of my issues with wikispace is sharing it with others. The wikispace classroom does not allow for public sharing so I would have to add my students to it on a regular basis. This is not a big deal but it could be a bit difficult to have students sign up and remember their logins for the page. In the past my students have struggled with remembering their logins for various sites or emails. In an effort to solve this problem I could keep a list of their login information but that would be defeat the purpose of them having the ability to participate outside of the classroom.
